Haiqi 2MW Biomass Pyrolysis Power Plant Heads to Malaysia

Recently, Haiqi's Malaysian biomass pyrolysis carbonization power generation project has ushered in an important progress - the first batch of 13 containers of equipment components was successfully shipped. This shipment marks that the project has officially entered the implementation stage.

The project, located in Malaysia, consists of 2 sets of biomass carbonation power generation cogeneration systems, with an expected power generation capacity of 2MW/hour and a raw material consumption of 160 tonnes/day. The shipment covers the key equipment and components required for the project to ensure smooth installation and commissioning.

The feedstock for the project comes from a wide range of sources, including rubber wood, agricultural and forestry waste, and palm fruit bunches EFB. These feedstocks will be processed by the Haiqi Pyrolysis Carbonisation Plant to produce a renewable gas. This renewable gas, after purification, will be fed into the power generation system for electricity generation. During the purification process, by-products such as tar and wood vinegar liquid can also be obtained, thus maximising the use of resources.

Particularly noteworthy is that the biochar technology used in the project is a carbon-negative technology. At a high temperature of 600~650°C, biomass is carbonised under air-isolated conditions to obtain biochar. Biochar has excellent carbon sequestration capacity and can block carbon for hundreds of years. It is estimated that every tonne of biochar produced can offset 2.3 tonnes of CO2 emissions, so the project will generate significant carbon sink benefits during operation.
